Crooked Lake Park - Inflow & Infiltration Reduction Improvements
Florida Engineering Society Ridge Chapter - 2024 Project of the Year
We are proud to share a transformative project that's protecting one of Central Florida's most precious ecological assets.
When Crooked Lake, Polk County's only Outstanding Florida Water, faced threats from an outdated wastewater system, Polk County Utilities Division took action.
The challenge was immense: chronic sewer overflows, significant groundwater infiltration, and environmental risks to a 4,000-acre lake and surrounding area that serves as critical habitat for gopher tortoises, bald eagles, sandhill cranes, wood storks, and countless native species.
Through innovative engineering and strategic rehabilitation, this project has dramatically reduced wastewater flow by 83% and eliminated direct discharge into this pristine ecosystem.
Congratulations to Polk County Utilities Division on their well-deserved recognition from the FES Ridge Chapter!
It was an honor for CivilSurv to provide engineering services for this essential environmental protection initiative. This project represents how intelligent infrastructure solutions are safeguarding our natural resources for generations to come.

UF Geomatics Student Association Meeting
Surveying Team Recruitment
Our team was proud to represent CivilSurv at the University of Florida's Geomatics Student Association meeting last week. It was inspiring to connect with nearly 50 bright upcoming graduates who are passionate about shaping the future of surveying and geospatial sciences.
National Surveyors Week (March 16-22) couldn't have arrived at a better time. While we're celebrating the precision artists who literally shape our world, we're simultaneously eyeing this fresh wave of talent ready to revolutionize everything we thought we knew about surveying. These UF students aren't just learning the trade—they're reimagining it!
The future of our profession isn't just bright—it's blazing. We're already plotting how to harness these creative minds and looking forward to continuing to the possibility of welcoming some of these talented individuals to the CivilSurv team in the future!
